Oluwaponmile (Pom) Oyelami obtained her Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas.  She works with college students, young adults, middle-aged individuals, and older demographics, who struggle with mental and emotional challenges that include anxiety, depression, trauma and grief, and suicidal ideation.

I believes strongly in the importance of mental health and wellness for each individual, and that every person deserves to live everyday with a “peace of mind,” a mantra whose three initial letters perfectly capture this ideal in a coincidental yet intentional acronym-- POM. I understands that individuals go through uncontrollable life circumstances that can disrupt their peace and leave them feeling impossibly lost in the storm of life. In a safe and nonjudgmental space, I help clients weather the storm by empowering and enabling them to understand the roots of issues, discover their inner strengths, provide tools, coping skills and resources that allows them to emerge stronger to either defeat the obstacle or remain calm. My ethos of a successful therapist centers on being mindful, supportive and attentive to the client, while sitting in the passenger seat of their journey, collaboratively working together on how they can live an overall happy, peaceful and high-quality life.

My passions include learning Spanish, traveling the world, spending time with family and friends,  going hard in the gym a few days out of the week, while listening to afrobeat’s! I love trying new foods, meeting new people, journaling and taking naps.
